Spinning 45 Ballerina
Good Morrissey lyrics are like a good novel. They tell me something about my life. It doesn’t have to be something I didn’t know or couldn’t guess but songs I’ve known by heart for years have a tendency to gain a new relevance after a while. Like when my last boyfriend dumped me some months ago. I cleaned my room (I only ever tidy up when I‘m truly unhappy or expecting people, so about three times a year) anyways, when I was done I laid on the floor and put on my “The World Wouldn’t Listen“-lp and a song that I‘ve heard a million times but not actually listened to suddenly was there and it summed up the moment perfectly. “Stretch Out and Wait“. I was lying on my back feeling useless and uncertain and there it was, an explanation and my justification for feeling like I felt. And last night, I dreamt about you, and I fell out of bed twice! (okey, maybe only once) It's not really love, but it’s not just the desire. It’s something more, and its not you, it's the way I feel about you:D Anywayz: The lyrics are so good because Morrissey is a thieving bastard when it comes to writing them and thats why he seems so totaly insightful. There all the beautiful words and half-truths he has accumulated over the years. KeyKey, lets have a cliché!!!:You make me feel like myself. Both of you.
